THE SYRIAN REFUGEE CRISIS

Since the Syrian Civil War started five years ago, some 4.8 million Syrians have fled their homes and their country.
Within Syria, more than 6.1 million people are internally displaced. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has registered some 650,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan, or around 10% of the country's total population.

Because of the rapid growth of displaced people into Jordan, official refugee camps are overcrowded, dirty, and potentially dangerous, leading to a surge of 'urban refugees' living in Jordanian cities and villages. As of now, about 80% of Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Jordan live outside official camps. Unfortunately the wide-spread decision to leave the camps has created a major issue: they are becoming lost and forgotten.

RUP works tirelessly to find these forgotten many, and provide them with the utilities they need to sustain life.

Join us in helping these refugees today.
